Responsibility Muslim Women (Muslimah) to Close Their Aurah
In this global and progressive era, of course you want your kids to be a sholeh kids. But what we face today is the moralities of society are so far away from what we expected. What we have in the news lately is all about bad things.
So, how can we make it happen?
There are lots of things that made women as the victims, whether it’s mugging, rape, harassment, etc. It happens because of the bad morality and it seems to be getting worst. It happens not just because of the bad guy who did it, but actually the victim made a chance for it. They dress and act that made attraction.
So Mom, we’d better to keep of our self and our family from that chance that made attraction. It’s very easy to do and it’s been written on Al Qur’an. That is by covering our aurah. Just like what Allah SWT had written on surah Al A’raf verse 26, which means:
“O children of Adam, We have bestowed upon you clothing to conceal your private parts and as adornment. But the clothing of righteousness – that is best. That is from the signs of Allah that perhaps they will remember.”
And also on surah An Nur verse 24-31 which means:
“And tell the believing women to reduce [some] of their vision and guard their private parts and not expose their adornment except that which [necessarily] appears thereof and to wrap [a portion of] their headcovers over their chests and not expose their adornment except to their husbands, their fathers, their husbands’ fathers, their sons, their husbands’ sons, their brothers, their brothers’ sons, their sisters’ sons, their women, that which their right hands possess, or those male attendants having no physical desire, or children who are not yet aware of the private aspects of women. And let them not stamp their feet to make known what they conceal of their adornment. And turn to Allah in repentance, all of you, O believers, that you might succeed.”
Covering aurah properly is a duty for each moslem. It’s different thing with how Allah command women to use hijab/ jilbab. Covering aurah is a must for every moslem whether its man or a women.
Shaykh Ahmed Al Najmi said :
“The mother is the first school. If she is righteous, the progeny becomes righteous.”
(Fath-ur-Rabb al Wadud 2/256)
Covering our aurah needs to be introduced since the kids in small ages. We have to do this so that they’ll get used to it. Mommies, you can do it every day at home and anywhere so it will become their habits. You should provide them a proper and syar’i clothes but still make them feel comfy. So, the kids will love to wear them.
